Wrestling Competition Held in Madhes Province

The Nepal Wrestling Association stands as the national governing body for the sport of wrestling in Nepal, fostering growth, excellence, and a rich history of achievements. Established on July 17, 1987, in the vibrant city of Kathmandu, the Nepal Amateur Wrestling Association (NAWA) has been a cornerstone in the development of wrestling in the country.

One of the most remarkable milestones in the association’s history came in 2019 during the 13th South Asian Games (SAARC) held in Janakpur, Nepal. In a spectacular display of skill and determination, Sangita Dhami clinched a gold medal, marking a historic moment for Nepalese wrestling. This victory not only showcased the talent and hard work of our athletes but also placed Nepal firmly on the wrestling map of the region.

Beyond this golden triumph, the Nepal Wrestling Association celebrated additional successes at the same event, securing an impressive tally of 5 silver medals and 7 bronze medals. These accolades reflect the dedication and relentless pursuit of excellence by our wrestlers and their support teams.

The journey of the Nepal Wrestling Association is one of resilience, passion, and continuous progress. As we celebrate these achievements, we remain committed to nurturing future generations of wrestlers, ensuring that Nepal continues to shine on the international wrestling stage.
